Daewoo Lanos - Popular Culture

Popular Culture

• A yellow Daewoo Lanos Sport is driven by Red (Danny R. McBride) in Pineapple Express.

• A green Daewoo Lanos was the alternative car for officer Washburn in the 2004 movie Taxi.

• A Daewoo Lanos was planned to be used in the movie Tracer Bullet until Vietnam Camera changed their plan- the successor model will be used (Daewoo Kalos).

• The MadTV character Tank (played by Bobby Lee) owns a riced out Lanos, the hydraulic suspension of which he ostensibly controls through voice command. In reality, another guy named Kenneth (presumably Tank's brother or friend) hides in the trunk and jumps up and down to make it look like the car has hydraulics. He also controls other features (like lights and music) from the trunk when Tank shouts at him.
