Cultural Algorithm - Belief Space

Belief Space

The belief space of a cultural algorithm is divided into distinct categories. These categories represent different domains of knowledge that the population has of the search space.

The belief space is updated after each iteration by the best individuals of the population. The best individuals can be selected using a fitness function that assesses the performance of each individual in population much like in genetic algorithms.

Famous quotes containing the words belief and/or space:

The belief that established science and scholarship—which have so relentlessly excluded women from their making—are “objective” and “value-free” and that feminist studies are “unscholarly,” “biased,” and “ideological” dies hard. Yet the fact is that all science, and all scholarship, and all art are ideological; there is no neutrality in culture!
    Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)

And Space with gaunt grey eyes and her brother Time
    Wheeling and whispering come,
    James Elroy Flecker (1884–1919)
