Cult Information Centre

The Cult Information Centre (CIC) is a British organization that provides information and advice to members of what the organization terms as cults, as well as affected family members, members of the press and scholarly researchers. The organization also serves as a resource for information on controversial religious groups, therapy cults, and political cults. The Cult Information Centre gives educational talks about cults in schools around the United Kingdom to students about to start university education.

Famous quotes containing the words cult, information and/or centre:

    By Modernism I mean the positive rejection of the past and the blind belief in the process of change, in novelty for its own sake, in the idea that progress through time equates with cultural progress; in the cult of individuality, originality and self-expression.
    Dan Cruickshank (b. 1949)

    The real, then, is that which, sooner or later, information and reasoning would finally result in, and which is therefore independent of the vagaries of me and you. Thus, the very origin of the conception of reality shows that this conception essentially involves the notion of a COMMUNITY, without definite limits, and capable of a definite increase of knowledge.
    Charles Sanders Peirce (1839–1914)

    Him, the vindictive rod of angry justice
    Sent, quick and howling, to the centre headlong;
    I, fed with judgements,in a fleshy tomb, am
    Buried above ground.
    William Cowper (1731–1800)
