Cuban Tree Frog - Behavior

Behavior

Excellent climbers the Cuban tree frogs will typically sleep above ground during the day. During the night Cuban tree frogs forage for insects in sources of artificial light. Indiscriminate predators they will eat anything they can overpower and fits into their mouth, including: snails, spiders, insects, other frogs (even other Cuban tree frogs), snakes, lizards, small crustaceans, and hatchling birds in their nest. Their foraging will occasionally take them up utility poles where they can cause short-circuits of utility switches, causing costly power outages.

Famous quotes containing the word behavior:

Our first line of defense in raising children with values is modeling good behavior ourselves. This is critical. How will our kids learn tolerance for others if our hearts are filled with hate? Learn compassion if we are indifferent? Perceive academics as important if soccer practice is a higher priority than homework?
    Fred G. Gosman (20th century)

The purpose of polite behavior is never virtuous. Deceit, surrender, and concealment: these are not virtues. The goal of the mannerly is comfort, per se.
    June Jordan (b. 1939)

The confusion of emotions with behavior causes no end of unnecessary trouble to both adults and children. Behavior can be commanded; emotions can’t. An adult can put controls on a child’s behavior—at least part of the time—but how do you put controls on what a child feels? An adult can impose controls on his own behavior—if he’s grown up—but how does he order what he feels?
    Leontine Young (20th century)
