Cross of Lorraine - Design

Design

The Cross of Lorraine consists of one vertical and two evenly spaced horizontal bars. It is a heraldic cross, used by the Dukes of Lorraine (previously known as the Dukes of Anjou); René d’Anjou "was a major transmitter of the Hermetic tradition in Italy and had the cross of Lorraine as his personal sigil". This cross is related to the Crusader's cross, and the six globes of the Medici family.

Famous quotes containing the word design:

The reason American cars don’t sell anymore is that they have forgotten how to design the American Dream. What does it matter if you buy a car today or six months from now, because cars are not beautiful. That’s why the American auto industry is in trouble: no design, no desire.
    Karl Lagerfeld (b. 1938)

Delay always breeds danger; and to protract a great design is often to ruin it.
    Miguel De Cervantes (1547–1616)

Joe ... you remember I said you wouldn’t be cheated?... Nobody is really. Eventually all things work out. There’s a design in everything.
    Sidney Buchman (1902–1975)
