Second City Television had a recurring skit, "Monster Chiller Horror Theatre", with parodies of horror films, particularly ones featuring a recurring fictional film series villain, Dr. Tongue (played by John Candy), and a host, Count Floyd, played by the stations fictional newscaster, Floyd Robertson, both played by Joe Flaherty.
