Courts Of Denmark
The judicial court system of the Kingdom of Denmark is not a single body – Denmark has one system, Greenland another, and the Faroe Islands a third. However, decisions by the highest courts in Greenland and the Faroe Islands may be appealed to the Danish High Courts. This article describes only the court system of Denmark.
Denmark's judiciary enjoys special statutory protection from the executive branch. Since late 2005, a gradual reform of the structure and functions of the lower courts has been working its way through the Danish Parliament.
