Experimental Videos
Sell's short film & video work commonly combines experimental techniques with a non-fiction diary film style. Much of his experimental work challenges the perception of the viewer by presenting multi-layered and abstract moving images in order to construct narrative through motion. Some of these films have been referred to as being 'reminiscent of early Stan Brakhage'.

Famous quotes containing the words experimental and/or videos:
“Philosophers of science constantly discuss theories and representation of reality, but say almost nothing about experiment, technology, or the use of knowledge to alter the world. This is odd, because experimental method used to be just another name for scientific method.... I hope [to] initiate a Back-to-Bacon movement, in which we attend more seriously to experimental science. Experimentation has a life of its own.”
—Ian Hacking (b. 1936)
“Ambivalence reaches the level of schizophrenia in our treatment of violence among the young. Parents do not encourage violence, but neither do they take up arms against the industries which encourage it. Parents hide their eyes from the books and comics, slasher films, videos and lyrics which form the texture of an adolescent culture. While all successful societies have inhibited instinct, ours encourages it. Or at least we profess ourselves powerless to interfere with it.”
—C. John Sommerville (20th century)
