Species
The Cotswold Water Park Trust publishes species lists for the site (birds, mammals, butterflies and dragonflies). Such checklists can be used as a general guide to what can be seen at the Park. Species or species groups of note within the Cotswold Water Park include the Black Poplar, Water Vole, Otter, breeding and wintering birds, and bats.

Famous quotes containing the word species:
“There are minds so impatient of inferiority that their gratitude is a species of revenge, and they return benefits, not because recompense is a pleasure, but because obligation is a pain.”
—Samuel Johnson (17091784)
“The French manner of hunting is gentlemanlike; ours is only for bumpkins and bodies. The poor beasts here are pursued and run down by much greater beasts than themselves; and the true British fox-hunter is most undoubtedly a species appropriated and peculiar to this country, which no other part of the globe produces.”
—Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (16941773)
“A man, to be greatly good, must imagine intensely and comprehensively; he must put himself in the place of another and of many others; the pains and pleasures of his species must become his own.”
—Percy Bysshe Shelley (17921822)
