Coton Green

Coton Green is a small housing estate north of Tamworth. Originally built from around 1970 the development contains a mix of private and council owned houses.

Along with the Riverside/Alders developments, parts of Leyfields and all of Coton Lane it forms part of the Mercian Ward.

One of the main features of Coton Green is the stunning Wigginton Park.

Wigginton park is the base for Tamworth Rugby Union Football Club.

Coton Green also has three schools: Coton Green Primary School, Lark Hall Infants School, and St. Elizabeths RC Primary School. The closest two secondary schools to Coton Green are The Rawlett School and Landau Forte Academy QEMS.

At the heart of the development is a very popular parade of shops and The Coton Arms pub.

Famous quotes containing the word green:

    He hangs in shades the orange bright,
    Like golden lamps in a green night,
    And does in the pomegranates close
    Jewels more rich than Ormus shows;
    He makes the figs our mouths to meet,
    And throws the melons at our feet;
    But apples plants of such a price
    No tree could ever bear them twice.
    Andrew Marvell (1621–1678)
