Apart from the Cooch Behar municipality, the subdivision contains three census towns and rural areas of 28 gram panchayats under two community development blocs: Cooch Behar–I and Cooch Behar–II. The three census towns are: Kharimala Khagrabari, Guriahati and Khagrabari.
