Consumer Education Foundation - Science Fair Awards

Science Fair Awards

The Foundation issues certificates along with all expense-related awards to elementary and secondary students who are conducting school-based or 4-H projects aimed at helping people make healthier food choices and develop healthier eating habits. These awards are typically in the range of $25–75 and tend to be related to a science fair or to a nutrition-related school project in either the United States or in Canada. The priority is on creative, novel ideas. Students who are from small public schools or from rural areas are especially encouraged to apply. Applications are evaluated on a continuous basis.

Famous quotes containing the words science and/or fair:

    Imagination could hardly do without metaphor, for imagination is, literally, the moving around in one’s mind of images, and such images tend commonly to be metaphoric. Creative minds, as we know, are rich in images and metaphors, and this is true in science and art alike. The difference between scientist and artist has little to do with the ways of the creative imagination; everything to do with the manner of demonstration and verification of what has been seen or imagined.
    Robert A. Nisbet (b. 1913)

    When I was a bachelor, I lived by myself
    And I worked at the weaver’s trade;
    The only, only, thing that I ever did wrong
    Was to woo a fair young maid.
    I wooed her in the winter time,
    And in the summer too;
    And the only, only thing that I ever did wrong
    Was to keep her from the foggy, foggy dew.
    Unknown. The Foggy, Foggy Dew (l. 1–8)
