Conservative People's Party (Denmark) - International Comparison

International Comparison

The Conservative People's Party is a party that extolls the virtues of capitalism in a land of social democracy, but it is not considered an especially radical party, being quite moderated by the popularity of the welfare state in Denmark. Thus, the Conservative People's Party is somewhat close to the mainstream of European conservatives, with an extra liberal streak. Comparisons could be drawn with the reformists within the Sarkozy government in France, the moderate wing of the US Republican Party or David Cameron's Conservatives in the United Kingdom.

Famous quotes containing the word comparison:

We teach boys to be such men as we are. We do not teach them to aspire to be all they can. We do not give them a training as if we believed in their noble nature. We scarce educate their bodies. We do not train the eye and the hand. We exercise their understandings to the apprehension and comparison of some facts, to a skill in numbers, in words; we aim to make accountants, attorneys, engineers; but not to make able, earnest, great- hearted men.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
