Cooperation Programs
The Congress participates and actively supports projects aimed to strengthen local democracy and cross-border cooperation. For this reason, Congress has helped to establish a number of international organizations, and further supports through their knowledge in the field of education. The Congress officially supports the following programs:
- Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA)
- Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South-East Europe (NALAS)
- European Network of Training Organizations (ENTO)
- National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG)
The Congress is working on the projects in close cooperation with various parts of Europe. These programs are designed particularly for certain Member States such as the Ukraine, the Caucasus states, the Balkans, as well as North African countries such as Tunisia and Morocco. The Congress is involved in these projects in the form of quality assurance, consolidation of reform, and improving the capacity of deputies in place, so that a constructive dialogue between the central government and the citizens can occur.

Famous quotes containing the words cooperation and/or programs:
“There is, I think, no point in the philosophy of progressive education which is sounder than its emphasis upon the importance of the participation of the learner in the formation of the purposes which direct his activities in the learning process, just as there is no defect in traditional education greater than its failure to secure the active cooperation of the pupil in construction of the purposes involved in his studying.”
—John Dewey (18591952)
“Whether in the field of health, education or welfare, I have put my emphasis on preventive rather than curative programs and tried to influence our elaborate, costly and ill- co-ordinated welfare organizations in that direction. Unfortunately the momentum of social work is still directed toward compensating the victims of our society for its injustices rather than eliminating those injustices.”
—Agnes E. Meyer (18871970)
