Con-way Freight - Network Re-Engineering

Network Re-Engineering

Following the integration of the three regional component companies of Con-way Freight into a consolidated single network in 2007, Con-way Freight completed a major network re-engineering in November 2008. The re-engineering was designed to reduce service exceptions, improve on-time delivery and deliver faster transit times while deploying a lower-cost, more efficient service center network better aligned to customer needs and business volumes. The re-engineering did not change Con-way Freight’s service coverage.

Famous quotes containing the word network:

A culture may be conceived as a network of beliefs and purposes in which any string in the net pulls and is pulled by the others, thus perpetually changing the configuration of the whole. If the cultural element called morals takes on a new shape, we must ask what other strings have pulled it out of line. It cannot be one solitary string, nor even the strings nearby, for the network is three-dimensional at least.
    Jacques Barzun (b. 1907)
