Company Grade Officers' Council

The Company Grade Officers' Council (commonly known as the CGOC) is a national organization of US Air Force Company Grade Officers (Lieutenants and Captains). It is not an official military organization, but a council of junior grade military officers that volunteer their off-duty time to give back to the base and community and develop themselves professionally. Each base has its own local CGOC organization, which in turn falls under one of the four regional CGOCs, that are combined to form the Air Force CGOC.

These organizations can also be called Company Grade Officers' Associations or CGOAs.

Famous quotes containing the words company, grade and/or council:

Is not disease the rule of existence? There is not a lily pad floating on the river but has been riddled by insects. Almost every shrub and tree has its gall, oftentimes esteemed its chief ornament and hardly to be distinguished from the fruit. If misery loves company, misery has company enough. Now, at midsummer, find me a perfect leaf or fruit.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Life begins at six—at least in the minds of six-year-olds. . . . In kindergarten you are the baby. In first grade you put down the baby. . . . Every first grader knows in some osmotic way that this is real life. . . . First grade is the first step on the way to a place in the grown-up world.
    Stella Chess (20th century)

I haven’t seen so much tippy-toeing around since the last time I went to the ballet. When members of the arts community were asked this week about one of their biggest benefactors, Philip Morris, and its requests that they lobby the New York City Council on the company’s behalf, the pas de deux of self- justification was so painstakingly choreographed that it constituted a performance all by itself.
