Commonwealth Edison - Increasing Reliability Issues

Increasing Reliability Issues

The year 2011 has been quite a challenge for ComEd as the reliability of its service has significantly declined when compared to recent years and other utility companies. Since the Blizzard of 2011 there were widespread power outages that have occurred in its service area in subsequent storms; Most notably the storms of June 29, 2011, July 11, 2011 (was ComEd's largest outage in its history) and on August 2, 2011. All of these storms have knocked out power to at least 40% of its customers and has caused a lot of frustration towards the company.

Famous quotes containing the words increasing and/or issues:

    Th’ increasing prospect tires our wand’ring eyes.
    Hills peep o’er hills, and Alps on Alps arise!
    A perfect Judge will read each work of Wit
    With the same spirit that its author writ:
    Survey the Whole, nor seek slight faults to find
    Where nature moves, and rapture warms the mind;
    Alexander Pope (1688–1744)

    How to attain sufficient clarity of thought to meet the terrifying issues now facing us, before it is too late, is ... important. Of one thing I feel reasonably sure: we can’t stop to discuss whether the table has or hasn’t legs when the house is burning down over our heads. Nor do the classics per se seem to furnish the kind of education which fits people to cope with a fast-changing civilization.
    Mary Barnett Gilson (1877–?)
