Colm Imbert

Colm Peter Imbert (born July 30, 1957) is a politician from Trinidad and Tobago, a member of the House of Representatives of Trinidad and Tobago and the People's National Movement (PNM). He is also the Member of Parliament for the constituency of Diego Martin North/East, which he has represented since December 1991.

Imbert has held the portfolios of Minister of Health (2001-2003), Minister of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education (2003-2005), Minister of Works and Transport (1991-1995 and 2005-2010) and Minister of Local Government (1993-1995), as well as Leader of Government Business in the House of Representatives (2007-2010) during his 20-year Parliamentary career. He has served as a Cabinet Minister in the Government of Trinidad and Tobago for an aggregate of over 12 years (December 1991-October 1995 and December 2001-May 2010) and although now in the Opposition for the second time, the first time being between 1995 and 2001, he is one of the longest serving Parliamentarians and one of the persons with the most experience in People's National Movement at this time.
