Clifford C. Clavin, Jr. (born 1950), also known as Cliff Clavin, is a character on the American television show Cheers, co-created and portrayed by John Ratzenberger. He is a postal worker, a bar's know-it-all, and a game show contestant of Jeopardy! Originally, he was not scripted in the pilot episode, "Give Me a Ring Sometime", but portrayer Ratzenberger requested an addition of a know-it-all character, which resulted in Cliff Clavin. Ratzenberger made guest appearances as Cliff Clavin on Wings and Frasier.
