Clare Devine

Clare Devine (previously Cunningham) is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Gemma Bissix and Samantha Rowley. She debuted on-screen during the episode airing on 26 December 2005 and was introduced by series producer David Hanson as a new love interest for Max Cunningham . In 2006, Bryan Kirkwood began producing the serial, and axed Rowley as part of his rejuvenation of the show. The role was subsequently recast to actress Gemma Bissix. In August 2007, it was announced that Bissix was leaving the show and Clare departed in September 2007. In 2009, the character made a brief return to Hollyoaks, departing on 5 June 2009 and was credited in a flashback episode in December 2010.
