Famous quotes containing the words city of and/or city:
“I counted two and seventy stenches,
All well defined and several stinks!
Ye Nymphs that reign oer sewers and sinks,
The river Rhine, it is well known,
Doth wash your city of Cologne;
But tell me, Nymphs! what power divine
Shall henceforth wash the river Rhine?”
—Samuel Taylor Coleridge (17721834)
“Im darned if I understand you city folks. Always rushing, rushing. Always thinking about the future. No wonder you have stomach trouble.”
—James Poe (19211980)
