Technical Aspects
Chum Kiu consists of a variety of techniques and movements designed to bridge the gap to an opponent, hence the name, Bridge Seeking Form. Chum Kiu also builds upon arm and leg movements learnt in Siu Nim Tao to create a coherent fighting system. This system is further expanded in the Biu Tze and Mook Yun Jong forms. Chum Kiu also teaches advancing footwork, complex hand shapes and body turns.

Famous quotes containing the words technical and/or aspects:
“Woman is the future of man. That means that the world which was once formed in mans image will now be transformed to the image of woman. The more technical and mechanical, cold and metallic it becomes, the more it will need the kind of warmth that only the woman can give it. If we want to save the world, we must adapt to the woman, let ourselves be led by the woman, let ourselves be penetrated by the Ewigweiblich, the eternally feminine!”
—Milan Kundera (b. 1929)
“All the aspects of this desert are beautiful, whether you behold it in fair weather or foul, or when the sun is just breaking out after a storm, and shining on its moist surface in the distance, it is so white, and pure, and level, and each slight inequality and track is so distinctly revealed; and when your eyes slide off this, they fall on the ocean.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
