Famous quotes containing the word life:
“Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When youre chewing on lifes gristle
Dont grumble, give a whistle
And thisll help turn things out for the best ...
And ... always look on the bright side of life.”
—Monty Pythons Flying Circus. Mr. Frisbee III (Eric Idle)
“Who shall describe the inexpressable tenderness and immortal life of the grim forest, where Nature, though it be midwinter, is ever in her spring, where the moss-grown and decaying trees are not old, but seem to enjoy a perpetual youth.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“... when you make it a moral necessity for the young to dabble in all the subjects that the books on the top shelf are written about, you kill two very large birds with one stone: you satisfy precious curiosities, and you make them believe that they know as much about life as people who really know something. If college boys are solemnly advised to listen to lectures on prostitution, they will listen; and who is to blame if some time, in a less moral moment, they profit by their information?”
—Katharine Fullerton Gerould (18791944)
