Chris Hemsworth - Early Life

Early Life

Hemsworth was born in Melbourne, the son of Leonie, a teacher of English, and Craig Hemsworth, a social-services counselor. He was raised both there and in the Northern Territory, in a little Aboriginal community in the Outback, called Bulman. He has stated, "My earliest memories were on the cattle stations up in the Outback, and then we moved back to Melbourne and then back out there and then back again. Certainly most of my childhood was in Melbourne but probably my most vivid memories were up there in Bulman with crocodiles and buffalo. Very different walks of life." He attended high school at Heathmont College before his family again returned to the Northern Territory, and then moved a few years later, to Phillip Island. He is the middle of three boys; his brothers Luke (older) and Liam (younger) are also actors.

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or life:

    They circumcised women, little girls, in Jesus’s time. Did he know? Did the subject anger or embarrass him? Did the early church erase the record? Jesus himself was circumcised; perhaps he thought only the cutting done to him was done to women, and therefore, since he survived, it was all right.
    Alice Walker (b. 1944)

    It were sad to gaze on the blessèd and no man I loved of old there;
    I throw down the chain of small stones! when life in my body has ceased,
    I will go to Caoilte, and Conan, and Bran, Sceolan, Lomair,
    And dwell in the house of the Fenians, be they in flames or at feast.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
