The Future of C&S
C&S has in the past had a reputation of "complex" gaming, primarily as it relates to 1st and 2nd editions. With (C&S4) the game is less complex, though still more so than the typical fantasy RPG. The game is currently out of print, though a few old products (4th ed.) are available for download through the Drivethrurpg web site. There is currently a 5th edition that is currently in layout stage and a possible release date later in 2011.
From 2000 BGD had had a free downloadable RPG called C&S Essence on its website. This was unrelated to the C&S System of the time, but aimed to provide the flavour of the game. A revised, expanded version has been written and is due to be published, for sale this time, vie Drivethrurpg.
C&S Light, which was a cut down, "taster" version of C&S 3rd edition is also being rewritten in anticipation of the 5th edition.
