Chittenango Falls State Park is located in Madison County, New York east of Cazenovia Lake. The 167 foot waterfall cascades over roughly 400 million year old bedrock, flowing beneath a wooden bridge spanning the meandering Chittenango Creek. The park offers a variety of activities like picnic tables with pavilions, a playground, a nature trail, hiking, and fishing.
Approximately 57,000 visitors come to the Park each year to engage in a variety of outdoor recreational activities. Although many camping guides still mistakenly list it as a campground, the park's campground was closed in the mid-2000s. It is also home to the endemic and endangered Chittenango ovate amber snail (Novisuccinea chittenangoensis).

Famous quotes containing the words falls, state and/or park:
“He that falls into sin is a man; that grieves at it, is a saint; that boasteth of it, is a devil.”
—Thomas Fuller (16081661)
“I can never suppose this country so far lost to all ideas of self-importance as to be willing to grant America independence; if that could ever be adopted I shall despair of this country being ever preserved from a state of inferiority and consequently falling into a very low class among the European States.”
—George III (17381820)
“Linnæus, setting out for Lapland, surveys his comb and spare shirt, leathern breeches and gauze cap to keep off gnats, with as much complacency as Bonaparte a park of artillery for the Russian campaign. The quiet bravery of the man is admirable.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
