Chilean Communist Party (Proletarian Action) - Philosophy

Philosophy

The party display itself as an alternative to the moderate "revisionist" views of the Communist Party of Chile and other marxist organizations, usually calling them social-democrats and betrayers of classical Marxism-leninism. This criticism has since increased since the death of Gladys Marín and the Carmona-Teillier era, mostly due to their Concertación-Communist Party pact in the parliamentary elections, usually finding support in the far left and the non-parliamentary left.

Famous quotes containing the word philosophy:

How does Nature deify us with a few and cheap elements! Give me health and a day, and I will make the pomp of emperors ridiculous. The dawn is my Assyria; the sun-set and moon-rise my Paphos, and unimaginable realms of faerie; broad noon shall be my England of the senses and the understanding; the night shall be my Germany of mystic philosophy and dreams.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

All roads are blocked to a philosophy which reduces everything to the word “no.” To “no” there is only one answer and that is “yes.” Nihilism has no substance. There is no such thing as nothingness, and zero does not exist. Everything is something. Nothing is nothing. Man lives more by affirmation than by bread.
    Victor Hugo (1802–1885)

There is a constant in the average American imagination and taste, for which the past must be preserved and celebrated in full-scale authentic copy; a philosophy of immortality as duplication. It dominates the relation with the self, with the past, not infrequently with the present, always with History and, even, with the European tradition.
    Umberto Eco (b. 1932)
