Within the Chilean-Australian minority, the majority are of purely European origin or descendants of European immigrants (English, Spanish, Italian, German, Croatian). Some Chileans are Mestizos with European ancestors that were mostly Spaniards and Amerindian ancestors that were the pre-Columbian inhabitants before the Spanish conquest.
