Chevron has taken steps to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and pursue cleaner forms of energy. It has scored highest among U.S. oil companies for investing in alternative energy sources and setting targets for reducing its own emissions and is the world's largest producer of geothermal energy, providing enough power for over 7 million homes.
Chevron is currently considering a floating liquefied natural gas facility to develop offshore discoveries in the Exmouth Plateau of Western Australia.
