Chevrolet El Camino - Scale Models

Scale Models

Scale promotional models and kits of the El Camino were available throughout the car's production. The first-generation vehicles were available from SMP and AMT as both promos and kits in 1:25 scale, which continued after 1964, when the El Camino joined the Chevelle lineup. The 1973-77 models were not produced in miniature (the same was true of the Chevelle). Starting in 1978, both promos and kits were once again available from MPC. The promos were done in many popular colors, and were produced until 1983. Other El Caminos were available as kits from Revell and Monogram in 1:24 scale for specific years, including 1966 and 1978. AMT also offered a 1968 El Camino SS396 in kit form as a new tool in 2006, with lots of detail. This model was "loaded" with options, including air conditioning, automatic transmission, power steering and brakes.

Famous quotes containing the words scale and/or models:

Every man needs slaves like he needs clean air. To rule is to breathe, is it not? And even the most disenfranchised get to breathe. The lowest on the social scale have their spouses or their children.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

Friends broaden our horizons. They serve as new models with whom we can identify. They allow us to be ourselves—and accept us that way. They enhance our self-esteem because they think we’re okay, because we matter to them. And because they matter to us—for various reasons, at various levels of intensity—they enrich the quality of our emotional life.
    Judith Viorst (20th century)
