Schools

Cherry Hinton Church of England Primary school (also called Cherry Hinton C of E Primary School) is situated on the High Street just next to the level crossing and near to St. Andrew's church.

In September 2011, the school changed from an Infant School for children aged between 3 and 7 years to a Primary School for 3 to 11 year old children. It is a Church School, founded by Trust Deed, and has ‘Foundation’ Governors, appointed by the Church of England.

OFSTED Report (2010) commented that the ‘School is constantly driving forward, seeking to improve further and is ambitious for its pupils'. The school has been rated grade 2 ("good") school.

Famous quotes containing the word schools:

We’re for statehood. We want statehood because statehood means the protection of our farms and our fences; and it means schools for our children; and it means progress for the future.
    Willis Goldbeck (1900–1979)

Our good schools today are much better than the best schools of yesterday. When I was your age and a pupil in school, our teachers were our enemies.
Can any thing ... be more painful to a friendly mind, than a necessity of communicating disagreeable intelligence? Indeed it is sometimes difficult to determine, whether the relator or the receiver of evil tidings is most to be pitied.
    Frances Burney (1752–1840)

It is too late in the century for women who have received the benefits of co-education in schools and colleges, and who bear their full share in the world’s work, not to care who make the laws, who expound and who administer them.
    J. Ellen Foster (1840–1910)
