Not to be confused with The Cerebus Effect."Cerebus Syndrome" is a term used to refer to a series or character (not just in comics), initially comedic or superficial, gradually becoming more serious, complex and dramatic. The result may or may not be successful—the results can generally only be judged in retrospect.
