Century Park (ETS)
Century Park Station is an LRT station as part of the Edmonton Transit System's South LRT Expansion Project. It's named after a transit-oriented development called Century Park, located on the former Heritage Mall site next to the station. Century Park is currently the southern terminus of the LRT line.
The station has a 123 metre long centre loading platform that can accommodate two trains at the same time, one on each side of the platform. The platform is exactly nine metres wide. It also has a grade separated pedestrian overpass connecting the platform to the Century Park Transit Centre and the Century Park development.
In January 2008, Mayor Stephen Mandel announced that the South line will be continued beyond Century Park, south along 111 Street to Anthony Henday Drive and then west to 127 Street SW. There will be a station and 1,000-car park-and-ride near that intersection (Ellerslie Station), then the LRT will continue south for one more stop. Long range plans for the south line include possible extension all the way to the Edmonton International Airport and Leduc.
The station was officially opened on April 24, 2010, with regular service commencing on April 25, 2010.
