C.C. Chapman - Podcasting

Podcasting

The first podcast Chapman ever listened to was Dave Slusher's Evil Genius Chronicles.

On December 21, 2004, Chapman produced his first podcast: Reality Bitchslap Radio. The format was mostly talk, but Chapman also found time to showcase songs by his favorite local musicians. He soon made the decision to produce a show primarily to promote this kind of underground music. On January 10, 2005, Accident Hash was born. The podcast gained immediate popularity thanks to Chapman's enthusiastic style and his love for "podsafe" music. During the summer of 2005, Hash was one of the first podcasts to be included in the iTunes Podcast directory and it became a featured podcast on PodShow.

In 2006, Accident Hash was voted Best Podsafe Music Podcast at the 2006 Podcast Awards.

In October 2005, Chapman also began producing U-Turn Cafe, a podsafe music podcast featuring acoustic performances which ran until December 2007.

On May 6, 2006, Chapman launched a non-music podcast, Managing the Gray, which "aims to help the business professional, through insights and interviews, stay up to date on what is happening in the world of new media, consumer generated content and no control PR." Regular topics have covered how companies have tried to utilize podcasting and Second Life as marketing tools.

Chapman has become a popular guest and occasional guest host on many other podcasts across the world discussing topics ranging from podsafe music to new marketing. Included in his many appearances is a stint guest hosting Adam Curry's Podshow on the Sirius Stars channel. He has also been a panelist on The BeanCast Marketing Podcast.
