Catherine Tanvier

Catherine ("Cathy") Tanvier (born May 28, 1965) is a former tennis player from France, who emerged in the mid-1980s as one of the brightest young talents in the game. Peaking at number 20 on September 17, 1984 her elegant game lacked the power needed to dominate at the highest level, but she continued to play on the WTA Tour for another decade, winning six doubles titles.

She now lives in Nice, France. She has written a book about her story Déclassée – de Roland-Garros au Rmi, Panama Ed. ISBN 978-2-7557-0234-7 .

In 2010, she made her debut as an actress in Jean-Luc Godard's Film Socialisme.
