Carballo goes far back as 759 A.D. originating in Galicia, North West of Spain, province of La Coruna. The Carballo name is actually a Portuguese word meaning Oak. Like the name implies it establishes location of the origin, tree full hills on a mountainous terrain with a short distance to the Atlantic ocean on one side and the Mediterranean Sea on the other, a distance of 1,130 km drive travel to La Marina de Port, Port of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain
