Orca Captivity Locations
As of 5 June 2013, 46 orcas are held captive at facilities in North and South America, Europe and Japan, providing entertainment for theme park visitors. Building the physical infrastructure of the parks has required major capital expenditure, but as the star attractions the orcas are arguably the most valuable and irreplaceable assets.
