Edmonton Motorcycle Toy Run
In 1984, the first annual Edmonton Motorcycle Toy Run in support of Santas Anonymous started at Westmount Centre and ended at Capilano Mall. An estimated 250 motorcyclists collected toys for underprivileged children in the Edmonton area.
The run became an annual event that always starts or ends at Capilano Mall.
Most years, 2,000 to 2,500 motorcycles participate.

“Today, only a fool would offer herself as the singular role model for the Good Mother. Most of us know not to tempt the fates. The moment I felt sure I had everything under control would invariably be the moment right before the principal called to report that one of my sons had just driven somebodys motorcycle through the high school gymnasium.”
—Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)
“As the creative adult needs to toy with ideas, the child, to form his ideas, needs toysand plenty of leisure and scope to play with them as he likes, and not just the way adults think proper. This is why he must be given this freedom for his play to be successful and truly serve him well.”
—Bruno Bettelheim (20th century)
“If youth but knew; if age but could.
Wives in their husbands absences grow subtler,
And daughters sometimes run off with the butler.”
—George Gordon Noel Byron (17881824)
