The Canadian Forces Land Advanced Warfare Centre (CFLAWC, French: Centre d'instruction supérieure en guerre terrestre des Forces canadiennes) is a Canadian Forces training facility located at CFB Trenton, Ontario, Canada.
It was formerly known as the Canadian Parachute Centre, and traces its lineage from the Canadian Airborne Centre, which was located at Canadian Forces Base Edmonton until 1996. It was renamed and its mandate expanded to become a "centre of excellence" for advanced war-fighting skills for the Canadian Army. CFLAWC is designated as the army centre of excellence for: static-line round, static-line square and military free-fall parachuting and teaches basic, jump master and instructor courses in each sub-set of parachuting. Equally important, within its mission are: the Arctic operations advisor, basic/advanced mountain operations, helicopter insertion instructor, helicopter operations, and aerial delivery courses. The centre is also responsible for the Canadian Forces Pathfinder course (the future of which is under review).
CFLAWC comprises Headquarters Company, Training Company (which executes course) and Support Company (which supports all CFLAWC training and also acts as the Canadian Forces Parachute Depot).
The centre sends members of its staff on international courses to learn best practices from allied nations and develop them into specialists and maintains a capability in desert and jungle warfare and amphibious warfare. A mutual parachute instructor exchange occurs throughout the year with the US Airborne School to foster the relationship between Canadian and US forces.

“... we shall never become an immense power in the world until we concentrate all our money and editorial forces upon one great national daily newspaper, so we can sauce back our opponents every day in the year; once a month or once a week is not enough.”
—Susan B. Anthony (18201906)
“If there is anybody in this land who thoroughly believes that the meek shall inherit the earth they have not often let their presence be known.”

“How oft when men are at the point of death
Have they been merry! which their keepers call
A lightning before death: O, how may I
Call this a lightning? O my love! my wife!
Death, that hath sucked the honey of thy breath,
Hath had no power yet upon thy beauty:
Thou art not conquered; beautys ensign yet
Is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks,
And deaths pale flag is not advanced there.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“The chief reason warfare is still with us is neither a secret death-wish of the human species, nor an irrepressible instinct of aggression, nor, finally and more plausibly, the serious economic and social dangers inherent in disarmament, but the simple fact that no substitute for this final arbiter in international affairs has yet appeared on the political scene.”
—Hannah Arendt (19061975)
“Here in the centre stands the glass. Light
Is the lion that comes down to drink. There
And in that state, the glass is a pool.
Ruddy are his eyes and ruddy are his claws
When light comes down to wet his frothy jaws”
—Wallace Stevens (18791955)
