In 2006, the DeVille nameplate was replaced by Cadillac DTS, an initialism dating back to 1985, when a "De Ville Touring Sedan" package was available. The new name brought the DeVille into line with Cadillac's Art & Science-era nomenclature, which saw the Seville renamed to STS and the Catera replacement called the CTS. The last 2005 DeVille rolled off the Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly line on June 23, 2005.
