Butterflies (TV Series) - Scene Location

Scene Location

Many of the exterior scenes were filmed in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, including the High Street, Montpellier and Hatherley Park. Exterior shots for the Parkinson house were filmed at 30 Bournside Road in Up Hatherley, Cheltenham.

Unlike other Carla Lane scripts, Butterflies does not feature a Liverpool-based family. A scene shot outside Cheltenham railway station leaves the viewer in no doubt that the story is set within the Cheltenham area.

Locations included properties along Bournside Road, Landsdown Road and Christchurch Road in Cheltenham, and that town's Hatherley Park, Pitville Park, Imperial Gardens and Neptune's Fountain; High Street; The Promenade, Montpellier; Peter's Bar, 23 Montpellier Walk, which later became J.J. O'Neill's; and Presto Supermarket, Grosvenor Terrace, which later became Bannatyne's Health and Fitness.

Famous quotes containing the word scene:

We, the lineal representatives of the successful enactors of one scene of slaughter after another, must, whatever more pacific virtues we may also possess, still carry about with us, ready at any moment to burst into flame, the smoldering and sinister traits of character by means of which they lived through so many massacres, harming others, but themselves unharmed.
    William James (1842–1910)
