Posey's younger sister, Samantha, played softball for Valdosta State University. On April 18, 2011, she hit a home run cycle in a doubleheader.
Posey married Kristin, his high school girlfriend, in January 2009. On August 14, 2011, Buster and Kristin became the parents of twins (a boy and a girl): Lee Dempsey Posey and Addison Lynn Posey.
