The Black Swan Pub
Its local name is the Mucky Duck. Apparently there has been a hostelry on the site since charcoal burners used it in ca.1650. Opposite the pub on Burn Bridge Road was the smithy, later a grocer's shop until the 1960s and now converted to an office.
