Famous quotes containing the words bud and/or phillips:
“And yet no greater, but more eminent,
Love by the spring is grown;
As, in the firmament,
Stars by the sun are not enlarged, but shown,
Gentle love deeds, as blossoms on a bough,
From loves awakened root do bud out now.”
—John Donne (15721631)
“Happy the Man, who void of Cares and Strife,
In Silken, or in Leathern Purse retains
A Splendid Shilling: He nor hears with Pain
New Oysters cryd, nor sighs for chearful Ale;”
—John Phillips (16761709)
