Board
The Board is Bruegel's central governance body and decides on strategy and on Bruegel's research agenda. It also appoints the director and deputy director and oversees Bruegel's financial management and budget. However, the Board does not bear responsibility for research results‚ which remains with individual researchers under the editorial oversight of the Director.
The board is elected for a three-year term by Bruegel's members and consists of 11 individuals with backgrounds in government, business, academia and civil society. The current Board membership consists of: Jean-Claude Trichet (Chairman), José Manuel Campa, Anna Ekström, Jan Fischer, Vittorio Grilli, Wolfgang Kopf, Rainer Münz, Jim O'Neill, Lars-Hendrik Röller, Dariusz Rosati, and Helen Wallace.

Famous quotes containing the word board:
“Watteau is no less an artist for having painted a fascia board while Sainsburys is no less effective a business for producing advertisements which entertain and educate instead of condescending and exploiting.”
—Stephen Bayley (b. 1951)
“Midway the lake we took on board two manly-looking middle-aged men.... I talked with one of them, telling him that I had come all this distance partly to see where the white pine, the Eastern stuff of which our houses are built, grew, but that on this and a previous excursion into another part of Maine I had found it a scarce tree; and I asked him where I must look for it. With a smile, he answered that he could hardly tell me.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“What happens in a strike happens not to one person alone.... It is a crisis with meaning and potency for all and prophetic of a future. The elements in crisis are the same, there is a fermentation that is identical. The elements are these: a body of men, women and children, hungry; an organization of feudal employers out to break the back of unionization; and the government Labor Board sent to negotiate between this hunger and this greed.”
—Meridel Le Sueur (b. 1900)
