In 1999, Orpik competed in the World Junior Hockey Championships in Stockholm, Sweden.
In 2009, Orpik was invited to the U.S. Hockey orientation camp (Aug. 17-19), for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Orpik represented the United States of America at the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Team USA earned a silver medal.
