BroadSword Comics is a company formed when in 1999 Jim Balent left mainstream comics to form his own company. BroadSword publishes Tarot: Witch of the Black Rose (Balent writes and draws this series himself) and reprinted Vampfire, which was created, written and drawn by Balent's wife Holly Golightly (also known as Fauve) who is currently also the colorist on Tarot: Witch of the Black Rose.
BroadSword also produces new titles like 3 Little Kittens and Holly's School Bites.
Famous quotes containing the words broad and/or sword:
“The poet will write for his peers alone. He will remember only that he saw truth and beauty from his position, and expect the time when a vision as broad shall overlook the same field as freely.”
—Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
“We soon saw, as he saw, that he was not to be pardoned or rescued by men. That would have been to disarm him, to restore to him a material weapon, a Sharp’s rifle, when he had taken up the sword of the spirit,—the sword with which he has really won his greatest and most memorable victories. Now he has not laid aside the sword of the spirit, for he is pure spirit himself, and his sword is pure spirit also.”
—Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
