British Waterways - Waterscape

Waterscape

As part of British Waterway's commitment to promote the canals to other users aside from boaters, BW set up the Waterscape website in 2003 as an official information and leisure resource for inland waterways within the UK. The website worked alongside the Environment Agency and the Broads Authority and covered all canals, rivers and waterways in England, Scotland and Wales.

As part of a marketing campaign in 2008, Waterscape launched the viral game The Crazy Duck in December. The game was set up to teach people about the facts and history of the waterways within the UK.

The website was taken off the web on 3rd July 2012 and has been replaced by the new website of the Canal & River Trust.
