British Rail Class 350 - Future

Future

10 additional 4-car units are being built for the TransPennine Franchise when electrification of the eastern section of the Manchester to Liverpool via Newton-le-Willows line is completed in 2013. These units will be used on services from Manchester to Scotland, whilst the displaced Class 185s will all remain with the TransPennine franchise to enhance capacity on other routes. The new trains will have a revised specification allowing 110 mph (177 km/h) running with an intercity-style interior described as similar to the existing 185s.

Ten additional 4 car units will also be built for the London Midland franchise, in order to provide additional capacity. These will also have a top speed of 110 mph (177 km/h), whilst the 350/1s will be upgraded to the same for the December 2012 timetable change.

Famous quotes containing the word future:

The moment the doctrine of the immortality is separately taught, man is already fallen. In the flowing of love, in the adoration of humility, there is no question of continuance. No inspired man ever asks this question, or condescends to these evidences. For the soul is true to itself, and the man in whom it is shed abroad cannot wander from the present, which is infinite, to a future which would be finite.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Captain Hank Quinlan: C’mon, read my future for me.
    Tanya: You haven’t got any.
Captain Hank Quinlan: Hmmm. Whadya mean?
Tanya: Your future is all used up.
    Orson Welles (1915–1985)

Not only our future economic soundness but the very soundness of our democratic institutions depends on the determination of our government to give employment to idle men.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
