British Movement
The British Movement (BM), later called the British National Socialist Movement (BNSM), is a British National Socialist organisation founded by Colin Jordan in 1968. It grew out of the National Socialist Movement (NSM), which was founded in 1962. Frequently on the margins of even the British far-right the BM nonetheless has had a long and chequered history and became well known for its association with violence and extremism. It initially organised as a political party but subsequently abandoned this strategy and has even had spells out of existence.

Famous quotes containing the words british and/or movement:
“Wearing overalls on weekdays, painting somebody elses house to earn money? Youre working class. Wearing overalls at weekends, painting your own house to save money? Youre middle class.”
—Lawrence Sutton, British prizewinner in competition in Sunday Correspondent (London)
“I am a writer and a feminist, and the two seem to be constantly in conflict.... ever since I became loosely involved with it, it has seemed to me one of the recurring ironies of this movement that there is no way to tell the truth about it without, in some small way, seeming to hurt it.”
—Nora Ephron (b. 1941)
